The AAAAI offers telemedicine learning resources for the practicing allergist / immunologist. These resources are designed as a place to start the discovery process. Due to the complex and rapidly changing nature of telemedicine, these resources are not able to be all-inclusive. For specific telemedicine questions that are not addressed, please contact: webeditors@aaaai.org.

How to Bill and Code for a Telemedicine Visit During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This video describes how to appropriately code for telemedicine visits, including telephone only visits and brief check-ins.

This video is for research only. The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology does not endorse products. Be sure to consult your state and local HIPAA and telehealth regulations as they may differ across the country. A practitioner should also be aware of the limitations of taking a physical exam while using a video platform. This approach will not be the ideal solution for all patient encounters, but it is one tool to consider to meet the needs of your practice and your patients.
