In alignment with the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology’s (AAAAI) mission to advance the knowledge and practice of allergy, asthma and immunology in support of optimal patient care, our grants and awards portfolio is designed to provide meaningful opportunities for members at every stage of their professional journey. These programs aim to foster innovation, support career development and promote excellence in research and clinical practice, ensuring continued progress in the field and improved outcomes for patients worldwide.

AAAAI Collaborative Translational Mechanistic Research Seed Award
The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) is committed to supporting cutting-edge and impactful translational research focused on the prevention, pathobiology, diagnosis and treatment of asthma and allergic and immunologic disorders. We recognize that team science is increasingly required to tackle complex problems and achieve scientific breakthroughs. To foster this collaboration, we are launching the Collaborative Translational Research Seed Award.

2027 AAAAI Foundation Faculty Development Award
The AAAAI Foundation is dedicated to support the development of junior faculty to further their careers in Allergy and Immunology, and to help create leaders and independent investigators by funding excellent research that will lead to the prevention and cure of asthma and allergic and immunologic disease. The mentored award provides $300,000 in funding, paid out to the awardee’s institution in six equal payments over a three-year period starting July 1, 2027.

2027 Drug Hypersensitivity Research Grant
This funding opportunity is to support up to three research grants to advance the state of knowledge, develop novel techniques, agents, methodologies, models, or applications that could have a major impact on drug hypersensitivity research. This funding mechanism is designed to further research in drug allergy/hypersensitivity. For this opportunity vaccines are not considered drugs, and applications that focus on vaccine reactions will NOT be considered for this award.

2027 AAAAI/TMS Research Award in Mast Cells Disorders including Mastocytosis and/or Mast Cell Activation Syndrome
The AAAAI in conjunction with the The Mast Cell Society is pleased to announce the 2026 AAAAI/The Mastocytosis Society Research Award in Mast cells Disorders including Mastocytosis and/or Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, a one-year award that provides $60,000 for salary and lab expenses.

2027 AAAAI/ Elliot and Roslyn Jaffe Third-Year Fellowship Food Allergy Research Award at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
The AAAAI in conjunction with the Jaffe family Foundation is pleased to announce the 2027 AAAAI/ Elliot and Roslyn Jaffe Third-Year Fellowship Food Allergy Research Award at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a one-year award that provides $160,000 for salary and lab expenses.
