The Practice Management Workshop (PMW) is a weekend devoted exclusively to the business side of medicine, programmed by allergists for allergists and their practice staff.
Sessions focus on the day-to-day issues that all allergists face, no matter their professional setting or career stage. Each workshop offers topics for FITs and new allergists, established allergists, practice managers and other administrative and clinical team members.
Attending a workshop is much more than the formal educational program. During the weekend attendees have multiple opportunities to make connections and learn informally from other attendees and workshop faculty.
Invest in yourself, your practice team and your future and attend the next Practice Management Workshop.
Read what some previous attendees have to say about their experience:
When I joined the University of Chicago to develop an allergy program, I was abruptly thrown into the world of practice management. As I sat down to write standard operating procedures for everything to be implemented, from oral food challenges to sterile compounding, to patch testing and subcutaneous immunotherapy, I knew I needed help. The AAAAI Practice Management Workshop was exactly what I needed, giving me the skillset I needed to implement essential practice components, and providing a support group to turn to when I needed to bounce ideas off someone or figure out how to get around a seemingly insurmountable roadblock.
Christina E. Ciaccio, MD, MSc, FAAAAI
Chief, Allergy/Immunology and Pediatric Pulmonology
University of Chicago
I attended my first Practice Management Workshop in 2022 right after completing fellowship, and the abundance of practical information and guidance not only prepared me when starting a new allergy clinic, but also significantly improved my work from transitioning from an allergy fellow to a practicing allergist. I would highly recommend the Practice Management Workshop to everyone.
Dayne H. Voelker, MD
Senior Associate Consultant/Assistant Professor of Medicine
Mayo Clinic Health System, Rochester, MN
As a program director, I feel strongly that the Practice Management Workshop is essential for FITs before graduation. Navigating the business side of medicine can be difficult even for experienced allergists, and there is specific programming tailored to the needs of new allergists. The workshop is an affordable investment in their future success.

This session highlights exactly the goal of practice management. The speakers provided evidence-based advice but more importantly shared their expertise which really allowed for improvement in my allergy practice.

The PMWs have made me more successful in my career and this level of attention/training in allergy specific practice management for both allergists and our staff is unique to our specialty.

I really appreciated extended breaks to foster networking and discussion between sessions and how accessible the speakers were to answer questions outside of the formal talks.

I really liked the intimate group setting to ask questions. This is a good conference for networking and meeting for FITs in a smaller environment than the Annual Meeting, and more geared towards private practice. Thank you for the discounted rate for FITs.
