Hypereosinophilia
Question:
8/5/2019
I understand that we should send BCR rearrangement for hypereosinophilia but I am unsure why and my literature review was not very helpful. I also understand that we send TCR rearrangements for hypereosinophilia and in my literature review I saw that we mostly send beta and gamma but I was unsure why alpha and delta were not more commonly presented. Is it because these mutations have not been seen?
Answer:
Thank you for your question I asked Dr Rothenberg for his thoughts and here is his response:
" The goal is to determine if the TCR is clonal and you only need one chain of the TCR to determine this, thus alpha for a/b receptor and gamma for the g/d receptor."
I hope this is helpful.
