Short-acting Beta-agonists Defined

Short-Acting Beta-Agonists (SABAs) provide quick relief of asthma symptoms. They can also be prescribed to be taken before exercising in order to prevent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. If you need to use your SABA for asthma symptoms more than twice a week this may indicate that your asthma is not well-controlled. This means you should visit your allergist / immunologist to have your asthma evaluated.

The AAAAI's Find an Allergist / Immunologist service is a trusted resource to help you find a specialist close to home.
