I have a patient suffering from GB Syndrome. Since a few months back she has been suffering from Urticaria and has been found to be allergic to protein. Her urticaria symptoms included weal occurrence on various parts of body. Wanted to confirm if GB syndrome has any relation to Protein allergy as such and should her diet include proteins post GBS. Thanks!!

To the best of my knowledge, and according to a literature search, there is no relationship between Guillain-Barré and either “protein allergy” or urticaria.
