Major Goals of Training Program
Our program is primarily based at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO), with adult clinics and consults at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), both of which are based at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado.

Major Goals of Training Program

  1. To provide comprehensive state-of-the-art clinical training in allergy and clinical immunology. Emphasis will be placed on the common atopic disorders, such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergy, and atopic dermatitis, in addition, to drug and vaccine allergy, insect venom allergy, urticaria, angioedema mastocytosis and eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases. Emphasis will be placed on both primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, in addition to exposure to autoimmune diseases.
  2. To develop a solid foundation in the principles of basic immunology, which is fundamental to understanding and managing immune-mediated disorders. 
  3. To build a foundation for clinical, translational or basic research. Emphasis will be placed on study design, data analysis, presentations, publication and preparation for funding. This experience is intended to provide the base for career development in either clinical practice or academic medicine.

Major Goals of Training Program
The primary goals are to: Provide state-of-the-art clinical training in allergy and immunology as it pertains to the evaluation and management of associated medical disorders. Emphasis will be placed on atopic disorders, such as asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergy, eosinophilic esophagitis, rhinitis, and sinusitis. Training in the management of primary immune deficiency and autoimmune disease is included.

Develop a solid foundation in the principles of basic immunology, which is fundamental to understanding and managing clinical disorders.

Initiate a solid experience in the fundamentals of research, either basic or clinical. This is intended to provide the base for career development in academic medicine and sub-specialty clinical practice.

Our emphasis is placed on developing careers in academic medicine. National Jewish Health is a referral center for patients with allergic, respiratory, immune and disorders from all parts of the United States. The Pediatric Day Program is a one-of-a-kind outpatient program that provides a unique and unmatched educational opportunity for day-to-day observation, management, and discussion of complex pediatric allergy and immunology cases. In-patient consults are provided at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. We offer an excellent crosstraining experience in adult A&I which is provided in association with the University of Colorad0/NJH Adult Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program.
