Leonard Bacharier’s, MD, FAAAAI, work has contributed to improving asthma guidelines in the preschool age group. The work of Corinne Keet, MD, MS, PhD, and Elizabeth Matsui, MD, MHS, FAAAAI, has been instrumental in improving our understanding of the effect of environmental exposures and their effect on pediatric asthma. NIH funding has been instrumental in supporting their work and furthering the field of pediatric asthma. The opinions in this podcast are personal opinions and do not represent institutions. The NIH provides the majority of funding for scientific research in all areas of medicine and the proposed budget cuts will drastically effect research now and in the future. President-Elect Carla M. Davis, MD, FAAAAI, discusses a new task force established by the AAAAI Board of Directors that will work to bring more attention to this issue and encourage all of us in allergy / immunology to take action.
