Hereditary Alpha Tryptasemia Syndrome

Hereditary Alpha Tryptasemia Syndrome is a condition characterized by the presence of high blood tryptase levels. It is associated with symptoms of high tryptase, including many allergic-like symptoms in different organ systems. People seem to inherit extra copies of the alpha tryptase gene which leads to higher-than-normal levels of alpha tryptase in the blood. If they did not experience symptoms, this is known simply as hereditary alpha tryptasemia trait.
