Bruton’s Agammaglobulinemia Defined

Bruton’s Agammaglobulinemia, also known as X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA), is an inherited immunodeficiency in which the body is unable to produce the antibodies needed to defend against bacteria and viruses.

Because it is X-linked, it is only seen in boys, although there is a very rare similar condition that can affect girls.
