Protecting Rural Telehealth Access Act

Protecting Rural Telehealth Access Act an important bill for rural and underserved patient access

June 15, 2021
The AAAAI has sent a letter to Senators Manchin, Ernst, Shaheen, and Moran in support of the Protecting Rural Telehealth Access Act (S. 1988) which was introduced last week. The bipartisan legislation would ensure rural and underserved community healthcare providers are able to continue offering telehealth services, including the ability to offer audio-only telehealth appointments, after the current public health emergency ends. S. 1988 would also permanently waive the geographic restriction allowing patients to be treated from their home.
