AAAAI Message to Congressional Leaders About AHCA

July 13, 2017
The AAAAI reviewed and evaluated the Better Care Reconciliation Act, released by Republican leadership in the Senate.

The AAAAI continues to monitor proposed health care reform and communicated with Congressional leaders to implement policies to ensure that all Americans have access to health care.

As always, your comments are welcome. Please contact us at advocacy@aaaai.org any time.

June 29, 2017
The AAAAI has sent a letter to Senator Mitch McConnell expressing our concern for continued access to care for patients, and specifically Medicaid patients with life-threatening allergies, asthma and immunologic disease. The AAAAI sent a similar letter to U.S. House of Representatives leadership earlier this year, asking that healthcare reform efforts prioritize protecting patient access to care.

With the Senate vote postponed until after the Independence Day holiday, you have time to make sure your Senators hear your concerns for your patients and your practice. The AAAAI encourages you to reach out to your elected representatives.

On June 21, Republican leadership in the Senate introduced their answer to the House-approved AHCA. For an analysis comparing the two bills prepared by the AAAAI’s Hart Health Strategies team. The AAAAI will continue to advocate for access to specialty care for treatment of allergies, asthma and immunological disease.

Your feedback on these important issues is always welcome at advocacy@aaaai.org.

AAAAI Message to Congressional Leaders About AHCA

The AAAAI sent a letter to Congressional leaders today with the following message:

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) strongly urges our Federal leaders (both the President and Congress) to implement policies to ensure that all Americans have access to affordable health care coverage. AAAAI further notes that protection of Federal programs of Medicare, Medicaid, and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) are vitality important in that effort, especially for our patients with chronic illnesses such as asthma, allergies, and primary immunodeficiency diseases. View full letter.

The AAAAI consistently advocates for patient access to specialty care in allergy, asthma and immunology. If you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at advocacy@aaaai.org.
