Pierson Faculty Visitation Program How did the Pierson Program Begin? In 1987, John Salvaggio, MD FAAAAI recommended that the Academy support a faculty visitation program for medical students and residents at institutions where allergists and immunologists are not included in the faculty or where there is not an A/I training program. This initiative came to fruition in 1993 and was named to honor Dr. Pierson's contributions and years of service in the field of A/I.   <back>
