International Assembly
International Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Program
The International Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Program provides international trainees with the opportunity to apply for AAAAI membership. It is important to note that although this membership classification allows for many of the benefits that other AAAAI members enjoy; it does not include all of them. Applicants are encouraged to read the program's benefits and restrictions to fully understand the scope and restrictions of the program.
Upon graduation from their training program, international trainees are required to submit a standard membership application for review by the AAAAI Credentials Committee. This is a pilot program which will run until 2008, at which time the AAAAI Board of Directors will determine if the program will be permanently adopted.
Eligibility
- Trainees should reside and train outside the United States and Canada
- Each applicant will need to submit a completed application, including appropriate documentation of their training and signatures as stated on the form
Benefits
- Full access to the AAAAI Web site, including the Members Only section
- Ability to participate in committees, Interest Sections and Assemblies
- FIT member rate for the AAAAI Annual Meeting and any other events having a specific AAAAI member rate (Note: The FIT rate prior to the stated registration deadline is $0. There is a charge for registrations after a certain date.)
- Listing on the AAAAI Web site and in other directories as an AAAAI member
Costs/Restrictions
- A subscription to the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (JACI) is NOT included with International FIT membership. To obtain a JACI subscription, it is $106 US. This subscription rate is for AAAAI members only.
- The cost for International FIT membership is $0. In order to take advantage of this option, an application must be submitted and approved through the standard FIT application process. Applicants must be qualified according to the stipulated eligibility requirements.
