Membership: How Do I Become A Doctoral/Post Doctoral In-Training Member?
Any Doctoral candidate or Post-Doctoral fellow who has been accepted or is engaged in a training program or in research related to allergy/immunology or a related field or fellowship related to allergy/immunology shall be eligible to be elected as a Doctoral/Post Doctoral In-Training Member. Doctoral/Post Doctoral In-Training Members shall not be entitled to vote, propose motions, serve on the Board of Directors or hold office. Doctoral/Post Doctoral In-Training members shall not be required to pay membership dues. Membership in this category is limited to a period of no more than three years. A Doctoral/Post Doctoral In-Training Member shall be eligible to become a Full Member in accordance with the procedures set forth in this Article IV for election as Full Member upon completion of his or her training program, or having been in this category for three years, and otherwise fulfilling all of the requirements of Section 4.3 below.
Full Member:
Membership as a Full Member of the organization shall be limited to those persons who meet (a) through (e):
- Are residents of the United States, its possessions or Canada;
- Have earned an advanced post-graduate degree from an accredited academic institution;
- Have completed at least two (2) full years of training and/or research in the field of allergy/immunology or a related field;
- Provide evidence of ongoing practice, teaching or research in the fields of allergy/immunology or a related field;
- Demonstrate ability to abide by the requirements of Full Membership, the Bylaws of the organization and any and all policies or other rules thereof.
Full Members shall not have the right to vote, propose motions, serve on the Board of Directors or hold office.
