This FREE half-day program is intended for primary healthcare providers who diagnose and manage patients with allergic disorders. Presentations will provide the latest information in the fields of allergy/immunology and asthma.

Target Audience
Primary care providers, including family physicians, internists, pediatricians, pulmonologists, otolaryngologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists.

Learning Objectives Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Demonstrate implementation of current guidelines for the management of asthma during pregnancy;
  • Describe the pathogenesis, epidemiology, presentation, diagnosis and management of asthma in sports;
  • Differentiate infectious from allergic rhinitis and develop a treatment plan based upon this diagnosis;
  • Describe the advantages and disadvantages of subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy;
  • Evaluate patients for their appropriateness for immunotherapy;
  • Identify the most effective means of prevention and management of anaphylactic episodes;
  • Describe the diagnosis and management of childhood food allergy
