AAAAI Allergy & Asthma Medication Guide: Eye Allergy Medications

This chart lists most of the medications used to treat eye allergy symptoms.

The conditions that can be treated with these medications include:
  • Seasonal Allergic Conjunctivitis (allergic inflammation of the conjunctiva of the eye that occurs for several weeks at a time)
  • Itching due to allergic conjunctivitis.

There are listed several medications that are marketed for use in allergy sufferers however they are either of unproven benefit or only to be used for very short periods of time.

The medications are grouped by their therapeutic class.

Under “Brand Name” there will be a notation if the availability is OTC (no prescription required) or Rx (by doctor’s prescription only).

Side effect and drug interaction information can be obtained through the links to the products.

These products are not intended to be used while wearing contact lenses.
