Time for vitamin D supplementation trials in asthma?
This editorial discusses the literature incriminating low vitamin D levels with severity of asthma. It also goes into a detailed discussion of the controversy regarding the proper dose for replacement therapy necessary for the non-skeletal effects of vitamin D deficiency. It discusses the hypothesis that doses as high as 2000 IU/day may be needed in this regard.
