Review of articles assessing montelukast as monotherapy in children with mild asthma

Summary
The authors performed a metaanalysis of articles evaluating montelukast as controller therapy for asthma. They reviewed randomized, double-blind studies of children with mild asthma treated with montelukast. They reviewed only English language articles from 1998 to the present time. They concluded that montelukast was "an effective monotherapy controller in children with mild asthma."
