Members Resources: Distinguished Lecture Series
The Distinguished Lecture Series offers professional education programs on cutting edge allergy and immunology for large audiences of primary care medical profesionals. This year the AAAAI’s most distinguished fellows will present five programs at five prominent medical specialty organizations. Topics from past series have included managing asthma, rhinitis, sinusitis, allergic emergencies in schools, anaphylaxis, insect stings, and respiratory disorders.
A program can be arranged as an educational session within your organization’s meeting or as a breakfast or lunch symposium. Minimum attendance is 250.
The Distinguished Lecture Series is sponsored and administered by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) and supported through an unrestricted educational grant from Aventis.
Audience
Medical specialty organizations with an interest in allergy and asthma issues.Program Topics
The AAAAI will work with you to identify an appropriate topic based on your organization’s needs and interests. Topics presented in 2002 included:
- Practical Applications for Managed Care NP
- Ocular Allergy
- Anaphylaxis
- The Pathogenesis and Treatment of Urticaria and Angioedema
Program Costs
This program is offered free to attendees and to your organization. The AAAAI assumes program costs such as speaker fees and support materials.Faculty

We ask your organization to include a description of the program in your meeting registration/ program materials. If permitted, we can create a flier, letter or brochure to promote the program to include in the attendees’ registration bags.Continuing Medical Education Credits
