Case Two: Twenty-Six-Year-Old Andy

History
Andy is a twenty-six-year-old male that comes to your office in January complaining of severe itching, tearing and burning of the eyes. He also states he has not been able to tolerate the light and most recently has noted a change in his vision. He denies having any pets and his girlfriend’s cat, according to him, doesn’t bother him.

His medications include a topical cream the dermatologist gave him for his eczema, which he has had since a small child. He frequently uses OTC decongestant drops for his red eyes, but that doesn’t seem to be helping anymore. During fall he uses over-the-counter antihistamines for his allergies. His friends and co-workers get “grossed out” at the occasional large amount of mucous discharge he has in his eyes.
