Members ASTHMA IQ FAQ's
ASTHMA IQ is a web-based tool designed to help allergist/immunologists and other asthma specialists learn about and apply in everyday practice the key components of the new EPR-3 asthma guidelines to improve the quality of care delivered to their patients with asthma. ASTHMA IQ is provided free of charge to AAAAI members. The tool will be launched at the AAAAI Annual Meeting in March.
What does ASTHMA IQ do?
There are several key components to ASTHMA IQ, but the primary goal of the tool is to help allergist/immunologists learn and about and apply the new EPR-3 asthma guidelines in order to improve the quality of care delivered to their patients with asthma. ASTHMA IQ contains a complete EPR-3 library with summaries of the most important topics from the EPR-3 guidelines. These summaries are available throughout the tool by clicking a small library icon, so you don't have to search through pages of information to find the specific topic you are looking for.Enter individual patient data into the tool to assess your knowledge of the new guidelines. ASTHMA IQ utilizes decision-support features that provide specific feedback from the EPR-3 guidelines based on the patient's age, asthma impairment, and asthma risk. ASTHMA IQ can help you select the most appropriate severity or control level and initiate or adjust therapies based on the EPR-3 stepwise approach. The tool provides graphical overviews of a patient's status and asthma history. Pre-built and custom report templates help you generate reports for a single visit or the patient's asthma history over time.
Manage your practice by analyzing patient data you've entered into the tool. ASTHMA IQ data analysis features allow you to graphically chart different aspects of your asthma practice, including percent breakdowns of control level, severity level, treatment steps and lung function tests.
The pay for performance (P4P) module allows you to generate a report with statistics for the most commonly used P4P measures.
The practice improvement module will guide you through a series of steps required to identify areas to improve in your practice and set improvement goals, and is designed to meet the requirements for maintenance of certification (MOC) established by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
