Disclosure of Relevant Commercial Interests
Pursuant to the Code of Ethics for the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and the Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the AAAAI requires disclosure of certain information from faculty members of educational activities designated for CME credit by the AAAAI.
To satisfy these requirements we require that all speakers visit the Online Disclosure System to supply the necessary information about financial relationships that have the potential to create conflicts of interest. AAAAI members should use the same login and password used to access the AAAAI website. Non-members should contact Denise Mueller at (414) 272-6071 or cme@aaaai.org for login information.
Each speaker's disclosure information will be reviewed for each session in which s/he is presenting. If the review indicates that the speaker's disclosure presents a potential conflict of interest, the speaker will be notified of this result and any steps necessary to resolve the situation. In addition, all faculty are required to disclose their financial relationships before each presentation in which they speak, by use of a disclosure slide (see below) and a verbal statement. A template disclosure is available for you to download and incorporate into your PowerPoint presentations.
For questions related to the disclosure process, please contact Denise Mueller at (414) 272-6071 or cme@aaaai.org.
AAAAI Lifelong Learner Bill of Rights
The AAAAI's Lifelong Learner Bill of Rights describes the expectations that AAAAI members have for our educational activities. Please take a moment to review and consider these expectations as you complete the planning for your session(s).
Handouts
The Handout submission site will open on or around December 1, 2009. Handouts for all sessions will be collected through this site and will be available online for Annual Meeting delegates. Printed handouts will only be distributed at Dinner Symposia. Annual Meeting delegates will be instructed to print handouts of interest before arriving at the meeting. Timely submission of your materials will allow for a positive experience by all meeting attendees, so please watch for an e-mail inviting you to upload your handout files. Handouts will be available for online viewing and downloading prior to the meeting.
For questions about handouts, please contact Lynn Gransee at (414) 272-6071 or lgransee@aaaai.org.
Visual Aids
If you will be using PowerPoint slides or other media in your presentation you must bring a copy of your materials on either a flash drive or CD-ROM to the meeting site. Please plan to deliver this to the Speaker Resource Room at least two hours prior to your presentation to insure that your materials will be available when you speak.
All electronic files must be submitted in the Speaker Resource Room using one of the software formats listed below:
- PowerPoint 2007 or earlier version
- Operating System: Media should be PC Formatted
- Web Browser: Internet Explorer 7
- Plug-Ins: Quick-Time 7*, Adobe Acrobat 9
- Video Playback: Windows Media Player 11; Quick-Time 7*
- PDF Reader: Adobe Acrobat 9
- Unix Users: Bring HTML Files or Adobe Acrobat 9
*Note: ALL Quick-Time users should make sure to submit their presentation to the Speaker Ready Room AT LEAST 24 hours in advance, due to additional processing time that will be required.
As stated above, all Annual Meeting faculty are required to disclose their financial relationships for review before planning their presentations. In addition, all faculty are required to disclose their relationships at the beginning of each presentation. A template disclosure slide is available for you to download. This slide, with your disclosure information inserted, should be included after the title slide in each PowerPoint presentation you prepare.
