These instructions are for authors whose abstracts have been accepted for the featured poster session as part of the Science and Surf event on Sunday evening, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.
Set up location: Americana Lawn Loews Miami Beach Hotel
Please be sure to set-up your poster on the appropriate poster board (these will be identified by your abstract number) between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm the afternoon of Sunday, March 5th. Your poster will remain on display throughout the evening. It is requested that your poster be dismantled no earlier then 7:30 pm and no later then 8:30 pm.
If you are unable to either hang your poster that afternoon or remove your poster that evening, please contact Mikelle Johnson, mjohnson@aaaai.org to arrange for staff assistance.
The usable space on these poster boards is 46 in. high x 94 in. wide (Landscape orientation). This is the surface space which one could insert a push pin.
The following guidelines are recommended when organizing your poster:
- Posters should be readable by viewers five feet away.
- The message should be clear and understandable without oral explanation.
- Illustrations, labels, etc. must be attached to the poster board with thumbtacks, which will be available in the poster area.
- A copy of your abstract should be posted in the upper left corner of the poster board.
- A label indicating the abstract number, the abstract title, author and the affiliation should be placed at the top of the poster board, to the right of the abstract. A label listing the funding source(s) must be displayed in the lower right corner of the poster board.
These abstracts will be facilitated by investigators in the research area who will initiate and promote discussion among the authors and attendees. You are asked to be present with your poster at 5:45 pm so you can participate in the discussion and answer any questions attendees and facilitators may have.
