San Antonio-the city
San Antonio is the ninth largest city in the United States and full of history and tradition. Each year more than eight million visitors enjoy the great shopping, excellent dining and wonderful sightseeing opportunities available in San Antonio. The city is filled with things to do, from visiting the famous Alamo to touring historic missions and strolling along the beautiful River Walk. The San Antonio River Walk is the most frequently visited place in Texas.The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Marriott Riverwalk and Marriott Rivercenter are all conveniently located on the downtown River Walk amidst all that San Antonio has to offer.
San Antonio-getting around
Getting around San Antonio is easy. For only 80 cents, visitors can ride the VIA Streetcar, an open-air, authentic reproduction of a rail street car once predominant on the streets of San Antonio. There are five VIA Streetcar routes throughout downtown that make traveling inexpensive and easy. There are also 106 regular VIA bus routes that travel throughout San Antonio. The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is located in north central San Antonio, approximately eight miles or 15 minutes from the downtown central business district. A taxi from the airport to downtown costs approximately $15 - $17 and shared-ride shuttles are available for a one-way fee of $9 or a roundtrip fee of $16. The city bus is also an option.
