Advanced Aeroallergen Course for Pollen Groups
This two day program planned by the AAAAI Aerobiology Committee provides a hands-on learning experience for allied health professionals and physicians interested in acquiring pollen grain and mold spore identification and collection skills. These skills are necessary for those wanting to learn or improve their identification skills and prerequisites for parties interested in becoming a certified National Allergy Bureau pollen and mold counter.

Pre-registration and ticket required. Attendees without tickets, guests and exhibitors will not be admitted. Fee: $200. Box lunch included.

9:00 Spore Morphology and Spore Identification Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to: Identify common ascospore and basidiospore types to genus level; Identify some of the less common asexual spores; Identify some of the spore types commonly seen in indoor environments.

2:00 Morphology in Difficult Pollen Groups and Pollen Identification Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to: Differentiate pollen in the birch family and related triporate pollen types; Distinguish between other pollen look-alikes; Identify less common pollen types.
