 Associates plan Miami Beach events

Bring your families to Miami Beach! After long, cold winters in the north, a fall of mudslides in California, and hurricanes along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, everyone needs an opportunity to relax in the sun.
Scholarship udpate
We remind all of you that applications for the Associates to the AAAAI (Spouses & Friends) Award of Excellence Asthma Scholarship Program are online this year. We are accepting applications from high school seniors in the United States and Canada through January 6, 2006. A physician’s signature certifying the severity of the student’s asthma is required for each applicant. As of mid-October, we have received over 150 completed applications. We hope to again have over 2,000 students competing for the awards this year.
Annual “Not-so-Silent” Auction
To provide even more scholarships than the budgeted funding, we will again hold our annual “Not-so-Silent” Auction. We are looking for the best items to draw the highest bids from members of the AAAAI, Associates and guests at the Annual Meeting. E-mail John Augustyniak at jaugustyniak@aaaai.org, or Francene Lifson at flifson@aafasocal.com, if you are interested in contributing items for bid. All funds raised by this auction provide for more scholarship winners.
Annual Breakfast and Business Meeting
The Associates Annual Breakfast and Business Meeting will take place Sunday, March 5. We will be entertained by a jazz trio from the Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. The beach party theme will appear in the table decorations, and we will also have a contest for the best beach apparel. Entertainment and beach prizes will also be in store for the children of Associates who come for breakfast. We are starting early this year, so everyone can enjoy more of the day at the beach.
