Workforce Snapshot

To keep members informed, key workforce information relevant to the field of allergy/immunology will appear periodically in Academy News. This information is based on the research efforts of the AAAAI Workforce Committee.

Funding for training program faculty
In 2002, 98% of training program directors (TPDs) reported that they had full-time, paid faculty in their programs. Approximately 66% indicated that they had part-time, paid faculty. Just as common, 66% of TPDs also reported having part-time, volunteer faculty in the program. Only 3% of TPDs reported having full-time, volunteer faculty within their training program.

Finally, 9% of training program directors reported that they had other faculty that did not fit the designated descriptions.
