The RSLAAIS will be sponsoring leadership training seminars this fall for the presidents and vice presidents of local allergy societies. The first session will take place in California Region 7. Future sessions will be held throughout the year in the other regions. The programs are sponsored through a grant from Schering.Leadership change
Hugh Wyndom, MD, FAAAAI was recently elected Vice Chair of the RSLAAIS. He vacated his position as governor of Region 3, and this position was filled by Dennis Ledford, MD, FAAAAI.OTC
Recent new developments with Claritin OTC have strongly affected allergy practices, in that many insurance companies are now requiring pre-certification for antihistamines or are not covering non sedating antihistamines at all. Please e-mail me at smgawchik@aol.com with your experiences in this matter. It seems allergic rhinitis has become more than ever the Rodney Dangerfield of medicine.
