Participate in Annual Meeting planning: review abstracts
To continually provide AAAAI members with opportunities to participate in the Annual Meeting planning process, and help create a superior educational experience, the Annual Meeting Program Committee (AMPC) is looking for committee members who are interested in serving as part of the abstract review ad hoc working group for the 2008 Annual Meeting.

“Each year a selected group of ad hoc reviewers are asked to participate in the review and scoring of the abstracts submitted to the AAAAI for possible presentation at the Annual Meeting,” said A. Wesley Burks, MD, FAAAAI, Chair of the Annual Meeting Program Committee. “It is the valuable input of AAAAI members that makes the Annual Meeting a successful educational event.”

A key part of Annual Meeting program development is review and scoring of submitted abstracts. Scoring of abstracts takes place within a four-week period in September, in which reviewers are assigned abstracts based on topic category. Reviewers are asked to critically review abstracts and grade them based on a range of criteria. The number of abstracts assigned to each reviewer varies with each Interest Section.

The AMPC encourages AAAAI committee chairs to provide names of committee members to be considered as part of the ad hoc working group. Suggestions will be reviewed and selected based on their area of expertise in relation to the topic categories.

All recommendations should be submitted by July 13 to Krista Perkins at the AAAAI executive office at (414) 272-6071 or e-mail kperkins@aaaai.org. AAAAI members interested in participating in the review process should contact their committee chairs.
