Saturday, March 19, 4:45pm - 5:45pm; Exhibit Hall D, Street Level, Convention Center
Dr. Hood is one of the world's leading scientists in molecular biotechnology and genomics. His research has focused on the study of molecular immunology and biotechnology. Most recently, his lifelong contributions to his field earned him the prestigious Lemelson-MIT Prize for Invention and Innovation. With the development of the DNA sequencer and other automated biotechnical instrumentation, Dr. Hood has played a crucial role in contributing to the successful mapping of the human genome during the 1990s, a process originally predicted to require up to 100 years to complete.
