In many parts of the country, the fall season brings an end to long, warm days spent outside.
But the start of fall hardly means the end of allergies. An estimated 36 million Americans will continue to sniffle and sneeze into the fall because of ragweed. Ragweed is responsible for most fall allergy symptoms and is most common in the Northeast, South and Midwest. A single ragweed plant can produce 1 billion grains of pollen in a single season. Ragweed season lasts until the first frost of the year.
Fall also means back-to-school time for children across the country. The AAAAI can help make this an easy transition for students with asthma and allergies. See the links below for helpful resources.
October 5-11 is Latex Allergy Awareness Week, dedicated to raising awareness and promoting education of this allergy that affects more than 3 million Americans.
