Q:

Is there a protocol to test to Coumadin/Warfarin?

A:

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

Unfortunately I could not find a protocol for skin testing to warfarin although based upon my literature search, one may exist because desensitization protocols to warfarin have been published.

The most recent of these publications is by Jameson and Siri. I have copied below the reference to this article for you. Unfortunately I do not have access to the article, but you can purchase it through your medical library or online by simply going to this reference. However, I am not sure that the reference describes a skin test protocol. Nonetheless, it does describe a desensitization regimen to warfarin.

In addition, I have copied below a link to “Scribd” website that also gives a desensitization protocol that has been published by Dr. Timothy Sullivan.

Thank you again for your inquiry and we hope this response is helpful to you.
