Q:

7/9/2013
Is the use of probiotics contraindicated if a patient has mixed aspergillus and penicillium allergies?

A:

Thank you for your inquiry.

I am assuming that you mean the patient has respiratory allergy to aspergillus and penicillium. If this is the case, there is no contraindication to the administration of probiotics in your patient.

Thank you again for your inquiry and we hope this response is helpful to you.

Sincerely,
Phil Lieberman, M.D.
