AAAAI Membership

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) represents a dynamic and diverse group of more than 6,600 professionals focused on advancing the knowledge and practice of allergies, asthma and immunology for optimal patient care.

If you are interested in applying to become a member, please select a member type from the list at the right for a complete description of member benefits, directions for submitting an application and to access the online application or PDF for download.

Applications for in-training and PhD membership will be reviewed and processed upon receipt of all required materials.

Applications for Fellowship, membership and allied health membership are accepted year-round, but are only reviewed in March, June and November each year.

Complete your application file by:

  • January 15 for review at the March Board of Directors meeting
  • May 15 for review at the June Board of Directors meeting
  • September 15 for review at the November Board of Directors meeting

Please note that incomplete applications will be kept on file for a period of no more than one year from the date of submission. If not completed within one year of receipt, the application, including all supporting documents, will be discarded.

Member Types and Applications

Fellow Status »

AAAAI members of three or more continuous years who demonstrate proficiency in research or practice in the field.

International Fellow Status »

AAAAI international members of three or more continuous years who demonstrate proficiency in research or practice in the field.

Full Member »

Non-members with an advanced post-graduate degree from an accredited institution and at least two full years of training and/or research in the field.

Full International Member »

Non-members outside the United States, its possessions and Canada with an advanced post-graduate degree from an accredited institution and at least two full years of training and/or research in the field.

Allied Health Member »

Persons engaged in the field of allergy / immunology or a related field, in patient care, in a technical or administrative capacity, or who work in research laboratories.

In-Training and PhD Member »

Any fellow-in-training, doctoral candidate or post-doctoral fellow engaged in a training program or research related to the field.

International In-Training and PhD Member »

Any fellow-in-training, doctoral candidate or post-doctoral fellow outside the United States, its possessions or Canada engaged in a training program or research related to the field.

In-Training to Full Member Transition » 

Any current in-training or PhD member within their last year of fellowship training or research.

Emeritus Status »

Any current, paid member or Fellow who has reached age 70.
