Summary
Dr. Wood and associates have developed an approach to the patient with suspected vaccine hypersensitivity who needs administration of the vaccine in question. This article is an invaluable aid for physicians dealing with such patients. Figure 1 is an algorithm with a suggested approach to the patient with this problem. The narration of the approach is accompanied by case studies illustrating various aspects of the approach to the patient.Using this approach, the authors have been successful in managing numerous patients with this problem.
