300 mg of aspirin daily improves outcomes after aspirin desensitization, but 100 mg of aspirin daily does not
Summary
The authors of this investigation wanted to compare two doses of aspirin during the first year of desensitization for the purpose of evaluating the long-term effects on nasal and pulmonary symptoms. They found that a dose of 300 mg of aspirin daily was efficacious in reducing polyp recurrence, anosmia, and the need for further surgery. On the other hand, a dose of 100 mg daily was not sufficient to improve these parameters.
